The commissioning process

In order to ensure that the new facilities at the Eco Park Surrey are fully tested and proven before SUEZ takes responsibility for operations and maintenance, there will be a detailed and rigorous process of testing, which is known as commissioning. There are three key stages of commissioning, which are mechanical completion, cold commissioning and hot commissioning.

Commissioning in April/ May

From mid-April, visitors to the community recycling centre at the Eco Park may see and hear noises and steam/ fumes coming from the site. This is a normal part of the commissioning process and no cause for alarm.

February 2019 progress report

The last few months have seen progress made across the whole site. Much of the work has focused on completing the electrical cabling and equipment installation, completing the mechanical equipment along with checks, pre-commissioning and preparation for commissioning of the facilities.

Giving something back

Did you know you can apply to receive funding for local projects from the SUEZ Communities Trust?

In 1997 the UK Government introduced the Landfill Tax to encourage recycling and reduce the amount being put into landfill. As part of this new initiative, it was agreed that a portion of the tax should be paid into community trusts and used to deliver projects to benefit the environment and local communities in the vicinity of waste facilities.
