January 2020 progress report

The past several months has continued to see steady progress at the Eco Park, with work primarily focussed on the final stages of testing for the anaerobic digestion facility and ongoing hot commissioning of the gasification facility. Most importantly, the turbine was synchronised to the national grid and the site has now generated the first MWh of electricity.

First donation from Charlton Lane Revive shop

In November 2019, the first charity donation was made from the proceeds of the newly opened Charlton Lane Revive shop. The charity chosen by customers of the shop was Princess Alice Hospice in Esher which received £1,821.11. The hospice later received a donation from the Leatherhead shop, making a combined donation of over £3,700 which will go towards providing compassionate end of life care and support for families and their loved ones.

Fire brigade visit to site 22 January 2020

At around 07:30 this morning, 22 January 2020, the fire brigade responded to site after receiving a call from a member of the public reporting a fire at the Eco Park. There was no fire on site, however, we were temporarily operating the flare at the anaerobic digestion facility which is visible from the M3. This was a false alarm and the fire brigade left site after confirming that there was no fire on site.

Please be advised that there will be routine fire alarm testing at the Eco Park from 30 October through 01 November 2019. Brief alarms may sound at intervals of up to 15 seconds periodically throughout the day while the systems are tested.
