Information for Community Recycling Centre users
How the building works may affect the service at the site's community recycling centre.
Your visit to the Eco Park
The community recycling centre will remain open during the works but we need to make some changes to the service.
Our site address is Charlton Lane Community Recycling Centre, Charlton Lane, Shepperton, Surrey, TW17 8QA.
Work is underway on the Eco Park’s new gasification facility. As a result there are some changes to the layout of the community recycling centre and the service is currently restricted.
Hoarding is in place around the gasification facility works area, and so the parking bays in front and the containers immediately to the rear are unavailable. These containers will remain out of use until spring 2017 whilst the gasification facility is built. The site continues to accept the full range of materials but with a reduced number of containers.
Work is also underway to create the new entrance and internal road layout for the Eco Park, which is affecting the access arrangements for the community recycling centre. Changes to the internal entry and exit roads will be clearly marked with staff on hand to assist.
Working to minimise disruption
Due to the restricted service there are currently extended waiting times to use the community recycling centre.
Our staff continue to work to minimise disruption and will be on hand to assist you with parking and locating the container you require.
Weekday opening hours are temporarily extended over the busy spring and summer period during the building works: From 1 April 2017 to 30 September 2017 the opening times are:
- Monday to Friday – 8am to 6pm
- Saturday – 8am to 4pm
- Sunday – 9am to 4pm
From Monday 3 April 2017, weekday opening times will be temporarily extended to 6pm until the end of September 2017.
We have located an additional vehicle at the site for exchanging containers to provide sufficient capacity, particularly for garden waste. Containers are exchanged from the service area to the rear and tipped in the recyclables bulking facility, so this activity is not affecting traffic.
The site is less busy mid-week and earlier in the day, so you may wish to visit at these times.
